Matt Vandelac, PGA

I have dedicated a large portion of my lifetime learning to teach aspiring golfers in search of improving and to improve on my own skills along the way. While much of my teaching skills have been developed through educational opportunities through the PGA of America and beyond, searching for answers for my own game has often provided insight into why a golfer does certain things and how to provide a means to improve. The ultimate goal for golf instruction in my view is to provide a player the tools to show an optimistic path to improve and enjoy the game for life. While the level of success is very dependent upon the drive of the student, I can share experiences that might make the road a bit smoother. I believe that golf is an athletic endeavor and playing other sports (especially ones that involve striking an object with something) can greatly improve your chances to succeed. Younger aspiring golfers that want to play their best should be encouraged to play other sports as long as possible and develop a wide range of physical abilities and a desire to compete. Adults that have not had the opportunity to experience some of these types of sports will find the road more difficult, but not impossible. I believe playing the great game of golf can lead to a lifetime of enjoyment. Whether you do it for the exercise, friendships, challenge, or competition, golf is a great endeavor you’ll be happy you chose.
